NEWS FROM COOL IT
|
The Cool It 360 Modena Fiorano joined a band of enthusiastic sports car owners from Dorset and further afield on a memorable journey last summer. Our destinations were the racing circuits of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and the notorious Nurburgring in Germany. The vehicles included everything from classic Porsche 993 and 968 to modern cars like an Audi RS6 and several 996s including two GT3s, a Ferrari 355 and of course our own 360, so the procession to the Channel Tunnel was quite something to see and hear.

We arrived first in Germany, where everyone got to grips with trying to remember, or learning for the first time in some cases, the tricky and hugely-long Nurburgring circuit. The more adventurous amongst us were going for Sabine Schmidt’s track record (no-one came close) but most of the time you were just trying to get round in one piece. The main problem came from the vast variation in activity from other track users – everything from motorbikes cruising round at 60 mph, learning the track and looking for pot-holes and camber changes, to other guys on bikes coming past you at 180. Obviously these riders had decided they had learnt the track…

3/9/08.........Air conditioning alert |
Due to the poor summer many owners didn’t make much use of their air con and climate systems, and therefore did not bother to get them serviced. The downside of this economy is that the system may well let you down this winter, when you can use your system to demist your windows and keep your vision tip-top for safety. Book your car in with Cool It and you can be sure we will not fleece you for unnecessary work – we will only do the things that are necessary to keep your system in good order. And we now offer menu pricing at very reasonable rates so you know what you are in for.

September 08........ Coming soon |
When we have good cars for sale, either directly or on behalf of customers, we of course will advertise them in the Sports Car Sales section on this website. However, sometimes we hear about a vehicle on its way but have to wait for it to be available, so some customers have asked us to give advance warning of cars “coming soon” so they can register an interest (and maybe start saving….). Currently we are anticipating arrival of: A PORSCHE 996 CAB. 1999 TIPTRONIC.

11/10/08 Nurburgring and Spa |
We have just returned from another foray in Europe with all the cars in one piece just. From the feedback I was getting from the guys everone enjoyed themselves even if one or two of the early morning starts were delayed probably due to the not so early bedtimes (4am was about the average) still this did not detract from the great roads we found in and around Nurburg let alone the Ring itself. We spent the first couple of days exploring at the Ring but some of the party decided to go to Spa to see if there was any chance of getting on the track in the afternoon because the Ring had been so busy on the Sunday and had several closures due to accidents, luckily there were a couple of spare places so they had a bit of practice before all of us were there on the Tuesday. The weather had been good all weekend and Tuesday was no exception most of us arrived at Spa for the 10am briefing and were on track by half past. The good news was that the track was very quiet and everybody could have as much track time as they liked which was great news for the one or two that had little or no exprience of track days, the day went well with only a couple of small incidences of spins and one of the party running out of petrol (Ben). All but one of us had decided to stay in Liege on the Tuesday night and not rush back as we have done before because it is to tiring so another late night was followed by an early start to get back to catch the Eurostar. It was good to see such a variety of cars on this trip including Ferraris, Porsches a TVR a Lotus and an MX5 great to see people getting the best from thier cars. It was mentioned that perhaps we could change the trip next time to a different venue if anyone has any ideas please let us know. Thanks to all the people that came and we hope you enjoyed it.
